授業の目標・概要

In this course, we will read and discuss works on the theory and practice of visual culture in the 20th century, with a particular focus on the interplay between media, culture and society. While works on the United States will be the default focus, participants will be encouraged to think of the impact of globalization on media and society in various regions of the world.

We will read book excerpts and/or academic papers every week.

授業の方法

Students will take turns facilitating the discussion.

成績評価方法

Assessment will be made holistically considering their participation in the discussions, their performance as facilitator, and their term paper.
