This course is intended to provide a review of psycholinguistic research in language acquisition with a particular focus on the production and perception of speech sounds by infants and adults. Specifically, we will address the following questions and more: How early can infants perceive and produce speech sounds in their native language? How can we know whether babies can perceive sounds if they cannot speak? What are the differences between first and second language acquisition?
Monday 3rd period
The course format is primarily made of lectures conducted exclusively in English.
