この授業では、20世紀アメリカの文化史、社会史に関する文献を読むことで、最近の研究動向を概観し、文化・社会の視座からアメリカ社会の構図、レトリックなどの変遷を考える. In this course, we'll read the latest works related to US cultural and social history with the aim of analyzing American society and the rhetoric used in imagining it.
毎回、本の抜粋または論文を読み、議論する。We'll read book excerpts or papers every week.
担当の学生が問題提起と議論のファシリテーターを務める。Students will take turns facilitating the discussion.
議論への参加、担当回の発表、期末ペーパーなどで総合的に評価する。Assessment will be made holistically considering their participation in the discussions, their performance as facilitator, and their term paper.
