This graduate seminar will focus on issues related to bilingualism. Topics will be chosen by students, and may include anything related to bilingualism, including but not limited to the acquisition of vocabulary by bilingual children, young bilinguals' performance on various cognitive or linguistic tasks, bilingualism during adulthood, etc.
By the end of this class, students should have an understanding of what defines bilingualism and be able to address and discuss various issues related to this topic.
The course format is made of in-class discussions and presentations conducted exclusively in English.
Short reviews, oral presentations and a research paper.
There is no required textbook for this seminar.
This course will be conducted exclusively in English, and students must write their research paper in English.
