Research Interests

I am interested in the relationship between literature and society in Britain during the hundred years between the middle of the 18th century and the middle of the 19th, when the Industrial Revolution and the emergence of mass culture were proceeding in tandem. I am also interested in computer-based vocabulary analysis of English literary works and translation of English prose into Japanese.
