Research Interests

I specialize in history of education, culture, and language society of modern Korea. My research theme is how discourse on language and "knowledge" was created in the context of the political history, cultural history, and the history of thought in modern Korea. Specifically, this will be done through a focus on the development of language policies and movement history in modern Korea, and through a study of the conception of "Asia" in academia (history, linguistics, etc.).
