Research Interests

Korean linguistics, Korean language history, Middle Korean. Mainly 15th, 16th century Korean grammar. My current major interest is to unravel the full pictures and the historical changes of the mirativity system(-dos/wos-) and the specificity system(-wo-) of Middle Korean, and to describe a theory of the accent system of Middle Korean and some problems about accent-conditioned phonological changes. I am also putting effort into developing and refining more effective research environment, such as a parallel corpus with original Chinese text and a corpus with prosodic marks(side-dots).
